What are you reading at the moment?
Right now I am reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. I just finished The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander.
Tell me about a book that had a significant impact on a particular part of your life.
When my husband Jim died, the therapist I saw gave me Mourning & Mitzvah by Anne Brener. It truly helped me navigate through that period of my life.
This is not a staged photo...
Ashley was standing up in front of the bank of dryers at the Green Hanger Laundromat in Missoula with a book in her hand, smiling, when I snapped this photo, asking for permission later. (Thankfully she said yes.)
What was so compelling she couldn't put it down during her dryer's last three minutes? Bird by Bird, by Anne Lamott.
